Job Purpose:

To drive and own the Creative Planning, Direction, Design & Development of all collections within Pedder Red, through the partnership and support of the Group Projects Director

 

Key Responsibilities:

In addition to following Pedder Group’s policies and procedures, key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the Design/PD teams to establish & develop the core & seasonal product base together with original & aspirational signature product for the brand
  • Partnering with the PR buying team to plan and strategize the collections, from product matrix to timeline
  • Set & meet deadlines
  • Drive growth by focusing on and strengthening opportunity classifications
  • Responsible for overall inspiration and direction for the brand, from concepts, key trends, colours, materials & rationale to final samples
  • Plan & translate the key trends of the season to be right for Pedder Red
  • Working with the Production team, continue to review the infrastructure to support growth in new classifications and categories
  • Responsible for overseeing/reviewing Design/PD team and all projects relating to the development of the brand through the product
  • To understand the needs of the business; provide full market intelligence and feedback to substantiate the design development


Skills Requirements:

  • At least 7 – 10 years of related experience
  • BA or BFA degree required, preferably in footwear/product design & innovation, fashion design, product development or an equivalent combination of experience and knowledge, skills, and abilities to fulfill the criteria of the role
  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to recruit, retain, motivate and develop a team
  • Demonstrate a curious perspective, a high taste level and creative ability including merchandising ability, commercial sense and market knowledge
  • Ability to research and apply market information in line with the business requirements
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and agile problem solving ability
  • Ability to work well with multiple individuals from a variety of different departments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Languages: English essential/ Chinese optional
