E-Commerce Manager

Job Purpose

To develop and manage the strategic merchandise and sales plan for E-commerce (Lanecrawford.com & Onpedder/Farfetch.com) in line with the company image by working with internal, external and Lane Crawford teams to drive the online store sales and profitability targets.


Key Accountabilities

In addition to following Pedder Group’s policies and procedures, key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:


Budget & Business Management

  • Achieve sales and margin targets by implementing technical and non-technical strategies and initiatives that will drive traffic, conversion, retention, revenue and profitability
  • Partner with Buying Team to develop online KPIs and seasonal merchandise objectives, achieve sales and gross margin plans
  • Strategize online initiatives to drive top line and profits sales; drive weekly and monthly marketing programs
  • Lead the internal support teams to ensure the right merchandise is featured at the right time online according to the delivery windows to meet full price sell-through targets
  • Ensure we are in stock to support marketing comms and to deliver the best customer experience
  • Work closely with Product Advisors, Product Writers, Customer Care and Sales & Operations store teams to understand and better accommodate customer requirements in product copywriting in order to maximize product description and minimize unnecessary returns
  • Partner with in store VM/ Brand Creative to deliver visual consistency between stores and online
  • Be proactive in understanding the local and international competitive landscape, and online retail and multi-channel trends, and take action to minimize any loss of Pedder Group market share


Operations & Customer Service

  • Oversee day to day operations, including content management, order fulfilment, and post-sales customer service
  • Oversee online product information from managing brand profile updates to product descriptions and ensure information is updated and relevant
  • Develop customer service guidelines and procedures to lead Customer Service to achieve financial and KPI goals
  • Keep up to date with evolving online media and technology trends, and explore new enhancements to improve site experience


Relationship Management

  • Manage vendor relationships including setting directions and price negotiations to ensure the online needs are met in terms of online marketing, material needs, and to address any questions the vendors might have about the site
  • Be the E-commerce representative and touch point for Buying Teams, working closely with everyone to achieve Omni-channel approach and mindset for Pedder Group
  • Engage in two-way communication and be the key contact person for product related questions for various E-commerce teams (Online Retail, E-commerce Trading, Product Merchandising, Customer Care, Studio, Editorial)



  • Degree holder in Business / Marketing / E-Commerce related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years’ solid E-Commerce Site Merchandising experience, preferably in a Fashion / Retail environment
  • Strong digital marketing experience; drive traffic, conversion and sales on a global E-Commerce platform
  • Track record of success in providing analysis, strategic direction, and business recommendations
  • Experience of managing, trading and optimising presence on third party marketplace online stores (Amazon, Farfetch, TMall etc.)
  • Entrepreneurial, analytical, collaborative with strong influencing, leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Good knowledge in online marketing landscape with technical knowledge of web tools (e.g. Google Analytics) and processes with experience in devising and managing digital marketing campaigns
  • Thorough understanding of retail – merchandising, sales, customer service, logistics, as well as global E-Commerce trends and competitors
  • Proactive, independent, detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to work under pressure
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
